Hi Louie! I was a Mariner for the second month, summers 63-65. I have a great photo of you and our unit with Marge Dickson, Joanie, one of our staff in the boathouse celebrating my 16th birthday. I had no idea the logs were still at camp! I would also love a copy of the 64/65 summer. Trudy Lothrop, Cricket Fine and I all went back to EIC as sailing staff, I stayed on from '68-'73. I'm looking for Sally Stevens, Pat Bowman, and Trudy (whose duaghter, I know spends summers at EIC).

I was a camper from 1954-1960, Mariner counselor 1962-1963, and Mariner unit leader in 1964. I have all my old hand-copied songbooks. It would be fun to get together and sing sometime.

Does anyone know where Bobbie Cohen is?

I remember when I was a Mariner in 1959 we sang a song for the talent show "There is Nothing Like a Guy", take off on South Pacific, and we were dressed in our middys and won a back rub from the nurse.
Once Ginny Hildebrand and Ellen Strauss (where are you Ellen), sang
" Side by Side" and won a sailboat ride with the Mariners.
In 1961 the Mariners sang "The Telephone Song" from "Bye Bye Birdie" and were great but I don't know what they won. Remember "Hi Weezie, Hi Ozzie...etc."

Anyone with memories of Talent Shows, Broadway Night, or the whole ecipse of the sun?

First session was the best especially because it wasnt that many people so we got to do more i went on a funyak this year it was fun. I wish i could've stayed second session.. I love the new counclers..

Hello everyone, I went to EIC 1961-1967, and loved my Magic Isle.

I have a request: I was in Mariners 1965 and 1966 and went to Women's Weekend 20 and 18 years ago. At that time, I went to the Mariner Boathouse and saw all the Logs of every year, interested in my years, of course and evjoyed recapturing my wonderful days of EIC and sailing. This year, I went back to the weekend (2007) to discover that those 2 years were missing from all the other ligs that are stored in the Adirondeck loge on the other side of the island.
I am OFFERING A REWARD TO ANYONE WHO HAS THESE LOGS, I just want a copy of the log for those 2 years, so I may keep one and then make another copy to send to EIC for the archives.
THERE WILL BE NO QUESTIONS ASKED, NO JUDGEMENTS MADE, I just would like to have a copy of those years. You can send it to me with a P.O number, your own address, or a friend's.....I don't care and I will happily give you a reward: check, M.O. or cash.....

I was at EIC from 1955 until 1963. 9 summers in all! I think I was in every unit they had at that time. It was fabulous and now, after 44 years, I have reconnected with some of my old friends from camp and one special counselor, Chris. This weekend ,7/26/07 we are going back,me for the 1st time since 1963, to rededicate the mariner boathouse. I just can't wait to see the island!! We are still looking for girls who were there from 1954 to 1963. My nickname was Weezie. WE'd love to hear from you.

Besides being a camper/Mariner in the 1950s I was a Mariner counselor in 1961-1963. For the past year my sister Ginny and I, along with the Schultz sisters (Gail, Rowain and June) have been searching seriously for former EIC friends and have found over 40 from our era. We have a fund raising project with the G.S. council to help EIC with capital improvements desperately needed after 69 years of camp.
We have had so much fun reconnecting and ten of us attended Women's Weekend
this june (2007) and had an unbelievable time. Sailing, SINGING and just bonding anew with camp and each other. We will come back next year and invite others to do the same. If you are interested in finding out more about who we have found and also about our fund raising project please answer this e-mail and send your snail mail address as well.
Despite all our efforts, we have been unable to locate Sherry and Ellen Strauss. Does anybody know where they are?

Many of us EIC veterans are reconnecting, and are having a wonderful time reminiscing. We are desperately in search of ELLEN STRAUSS of the "Rat Pack" (of the late 50's, early 60's, named coined by Chris Hildebrand) and Ellen's sister SHERRY, of New Jersey.

I googled "Eagle Island Camp", a place of happy childhood memories (~1967/1968), and was delighted with what I found!

It's good to know EIC is still with the Girl Scouts and that someone has lovingly created a web site. I hope former staff and campers happen upon the web site and add their history/remembrances to it.

I remember the beauty and serenity of Eagle Island...but most of all, I remember the singing...

Today, at age 53, I still attend summer camp but it's at Lake Tahoe with my dogs (Camp Winnaribbun). I wish Camp W had the singing voices that EIC had, and I wish EIC had allowed us to bring our dogs to camp!

So many of my childhood memories are wrapped up in Eagle Island. I returned there for the first time about 5 years ago and am so excited to go to Women's Weekend this year!
